UK party leaders vow to shut down coal plants

UK's political leaders have pledged to work together to combat climate change and end coal burning for power generation.

On Saturday 14 February a cross-party announcement by Prime Minister David Cameron (The Conservative Party), Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrats) and opposition leader Ed Miliband (Labour) was published where Britain’s three main parties pledge to end power generation from coal plants that don't use emissions-capturing technology, and to push for a global climate deal.
