Nuon kicked off this trial project on 7 December in the town of Wijchen, the first location where the Nuon Energy Roof is available.
An analysis of customers’ energy consumption showed that several hundred thousand households in the Netherlands have high utility bills due to poor roof insulation. These households can benefit from the Nuon Energy Roof because the insulationreduces gas consumption and the solar panels generate electricity for the customer's own use.
Martijn van Drunen, Director Solutions Development at Nuon, says:
"We are working hard to shape the energy transition for our customers. They want us to help reduce their energy bills and offer renewable energy. That is why we are investing in new products and services that meet these needs."
Nuon’s Cindy Kroon, Director Customers:
"The new Energy Roof fits with this approach. It is a good example of how we can offer our customers smart and effective solutions that help them save energy and generate power."
On7 December a kick-off was held in Wijchen. If there turns out to be sufficient demand for the Energy Roof in Wijchen, Noun will later launch it in other municipalities as well.
