"WE STILL LACK WOMEN IN LEADING POSITIONS”

Germany Sandra Kischka joined Vattenfall at the time when the company grew to become one of the biggest utilities on the German market.

News from Vattenfall is observing the International Women's Day on 8 March for a week by recognising the women in the energy sector. Sandra Kischka joined Vattenfall in 2003 and is today responsible for claim settlement at BU Distribution in Germany.

“When I started here, the company was in the process of becoming one of the largest utilities in Germany. It was an absolutely fascinating and challenging experience to be part of the Mergers&Acquisitions team.”

Sandra Kischka enjoys working in the controlling department and has to deal with complex technical matters on a daily basis.
“I also very much enjoy managing my small team.”

What do you think Vattenfall should do to increase the number of women at your workplace?

“My team consists of women only, but in Germany we still lack female role models in leading positions. Vattenfall should continue to systematically increase the number of female managers by using KPIs, female mentoring programs and flexible working hours.”
