Last year was another year of high electricity production in Sweden; 158 TWh, which is the second largest ever annual production in the country. Most electricity came from hydro power which accounted for 47 percent of Sweden's electricity production during the year.
Wind power once again achieved a new production record, and total net exports of electricity from Sweden was the biggest ever. As a result of the large electricity production and low electricity consumption, net exports accounted for 22.6 TWh in 2015, which is the largest electricity export ever from Sweden. These statistics were published by the Swedish Energy Agency.
